How to Get Indexed on MSN

The MSN search engine is still one of the top three search engines. It also provides the secondary search results for Hotbot so you do need your web site indexed so you can get even more free traffic. There are three main options to getting you web site indexed on MSN.

The firsts is to to exchange links with a PR4+ web site already indexed on MSN. It needs to be a PR4 so that the MSN search spider will revisit this web site frequently, find your link and index it accordingly.

If your web site is new then it may not be easy to exchange links with a high PR web site because your web site will have zero page rank. If this is the case you simply choose the other two methods outlined below.

For the second method just go to the MSN home page and type in your URL in the search bar and click on the 'search web' link. Your web site will not be found of course but if you look at the information on this page under 'Other Resources That May Help you' you will see the option to 'send The Address to Us'. Click on this link and add your web site URL.

Go back in a week to see if they have indexed it, if your web site is still not indexed then repeat the process again. Don't submit everyday otherwise you may be accused of spamming so give MSN a chance to index your web site.

To speed things up even quicker you can click on the 'MyMSN' link on the home page and sign-up for a free account. You can use any free email address, you don't need to use Hotmail, Yahoo will work fine. Complete the form, check your email account you used and click on the confirmation link.

This will take you to the MyMSN log-in page. On the home page on the left hand column you will see a box for 'My Favorite Links'. Click on the 'Change Details' link and you will see three links already added. These are the MSN default pages. You can delete these if you want or just add your web site title and URL.

Once this is done you you will see that you now have a link back to your web site from your MyMSN page. This is another nudge to MSN to spider your web site and get it indexed.

If you wanted to be speed things up even quicker you could open even more MyMSN accounts and add your URL to these as well. This will bring more weight and importance to your web site and will speed up the indexing process even more. I don't think this is necessary on MSN however as your web site should get indexed quickly anyway.
