Gambling Market
Monetizing
If you are following a particular gambling
niche you want to promote then it is always a good idea to
see what people are spending in this market. One of the best
ways to reveal this information is to simply see who is
spending the money in the PPC markets.
One of the best tools to use for this was
the Google Traffic Estimator Sandbox but unfortunately
Google Adwords and Gambling are not the best of friends and
they do not accept gambling PPC ads from gambling related
web sites on the whole. There may be some grey area
exceptions to this but generally they do not accept them.
The Overture Bid Tool was also a great
resource to see immediately how much people were bidding on
PPC ads in each market. Unfortunately once Yahoo purchased
Overture and called it Yahoo Search Marketing this research
tool was also no longer available.
The good news is that Yahoo does accept
certain PPC ads promoting gambling though they are confined
to mainly gambling system products. Not that this is a bad
thing because you can still promote casinos, poker rooms and
sportsbooks etc on the backend or even as part of the
product you are promoting but more on this in a later
tutorial.
If you visit the Yahoo Search Marketing
web site you can see immediately what money is being spent
in specific markets without having to sign-up or spend a
dime. You will not get the same detailed information you
would get from the Google Traffic Estimator Sandbox but it
is still useful information just the same.
Don't forget this tutorial is not about
starting a PPC campaign. It is just using the resources
connected to PPC so you can see immediately what people are
spending on
advertising in the market and what type of products they are
promoting.
