Creating sitemaps for each of your web sites is an accurate way for search engines to index all of your web pages. The main function of any search engine is to bring the most accurate search results possible. While the old html site maps provided a general indexing function it did not provide Google and Yahoo with the detailed information they need when the spider visits your web site.
Site maps provide additional information such as when a web page was modified, how frequently the page is updated and how you give priority to specific pages. If you update an important page daily then you can add information to the site map informing the search engines so they will come back and spider more often.
You can create Google site maps on your desktop with software or you can use an online service. You need to bear in mind that not all search engines recognise the exact same site map files. Google prefers XML, Yahoo prefers .txt and some of the other search engines prefer ROR files.
Many affiliates make the big mistake of creating the xml file for Google and think this will be fine for all the other search engines. This is not the case so you need to ensure that when you submit your sitemap to the major search engines you double check to make sure the file is the correct one otherwise it will be ignored and your web site pages will not be indexed.

I mentioned in a previous post that my favourite place to buy gambling domains was at Godaddy.com. But what can you do if you cannot find a domain that is suitable and available to buy?
Domain auctions are a great place to buy domains at a discounted price. These domains end up here because the owner may have received notification from the domain registrar that the domain is coming up for renewal and if they have no plans to use it then they try and sell it for a small profit before the renewal date. This makes more sense than just letting the domain expire. If you think the domain has a value then why not try and sell it at auction.
In other instances the domain owner wants to move onto different markets or wants to focus on the other domains they own. The domain is not going to be used in the foreseeable future so try and sell it at auction. It makes sound business sense to try and get some form of premium back on a domain. Why just let it expire for someone else to come along and pick it up for face value when it comes back on the market again?

Gambling domains are highly sought after and the top .com domains can bring some very high prices. That being said you can still get some great bargains online even for some top rated .com domains. It’s just a matter of being in the right place at the right time in many instances because domains are coming back on the market fairly frequently as affiliates drop out of the industry.
There has been a lot of stuff written online about domains and how they can’t give you top rankings. There is an element of truth about this though I must say that domains that contain keywords are a very powerful SEO technique. I have been using it for years and it’s still as effective now as it was then. But the domain alone is not going to get you top rankings. You still have to put some content in there and to point some backlinks in.
I would always buy a .com domain name if it’s available because it brings with it a sense of authority. I will gladly buy a domain with hyphens as long as it has my main keywords in it. I also buy .net domains if the .com options are unavailable. I only use .org, .info and other smaller domain extensions if I am building a throw away web site as part of a network. If it gets delisted or shoots down the index because I did something against Google’s TOS then it’s not the end of the World. I would just go out any buy another .info domain for 99-cents.
