One of the best things I ever did when
learning the art of affiliate marketing was join as many
mailing lists as I could find on the topics of online
business and affiliate marketing. I joined hundreds of them
and they swamped my inbox. If you take some time to go
through them you will find that it is only a small minority
that know what they are talking about. Experience will tell
you this. It is just a matter of sorting out the diamonds
from the rough. Out of a few hundred I whittled mine down to
less than 10. I know that when I receive an email from one
of these 10 then it will be honest, good advice that I
should take notice of.
One of the biggest mistake affiliate
marketers can make is to get involved as a gambling
affiliate just because the commissions are high. If you plan
your business around this concept then you are doomed to
fail. This will become very apparent to you as you get more
involved. It is very difficult to promote, write about and
build a business around a topic that you have no personal
interest in, trust me I have tried myself.
This is why it is so important to do that
initial research into the gambling industry as a whole. You
need to get a feel for the market and it is something that
you really should have a passion for. If you have ever been
in a job that you hate (and you get paid to do) you will
know how unpleasant that is and you just don't want to get
out of bed in the morning to go to work. Now if you think of
the exact same scenario as a gambling affiliate and you are
not making any income then the problems will become very
apparent.
It takes a lot of hard work to be a
successful gambling affiliate and there will be times in the
early stages when you feel like giving up because you are
simply not getting the rewards that you feel your hard work
has deserved. This is a very common problem for new
affiliates and it is this very same invisible banner that
causes many affiliates to give up and why only a small
minority make the majority of the commissions. Call them
super affiliates if you wish but these are the special ones
that shrugged off the early disappointments and crossed that
invisible barrier. They were determined to succeed and
nothing was going to stop them. That is why they really do
deserve the title in my opinion as 'super Affiliates. So do
